Shedload

Shedload help

Shedload values the things in your house from a photo, tells you where to sell each one in the UK, and keeps track of what you've sold.

Can't find your answer here? Email emilianoappdev@gmail.com and we'll reply within 2 working days. If it's about your data, include your install ID from Settings, then "Your data".

Scanning

How do I scan?

On the Home tab, tap "Scan with camera" to take a photo, or "Photos" to choose one you've already taken. Shedload picks out each thing it can sell, prices it, and lists the results as they come in. Most scans take a few seconds; a busy shelf can take longer.

How do I get the best results?

Why does each item have its own picture?

When a photo has several things in it, Shedload cuts each one out so you can tell them apart. If it can't find the edges of something, it shows the whole photo instead.

Can I use more than one photo?

Yes. When you choose from Photos, you can pick up to 3 photos of the same things, for example a box and a close-up of its labels. They're valued together as one scan.

What does "Check details" mean?

Shedload isn't sure exactly what that item is, or the price depends on something the photo doesn't show, like the storage size or whether a set is complete. Open the item to see the question, then tap "Fix details" and tell us. It re-prices the item straight away and doesn't use a scan.

Can I add something without a photo?

Yes. On the Home tab, tap "Add something by name", type what it is (for example "PS4 Pro 1TB with two controllers"), pick its condition and tap "Price it". This doesn't use a scan. You can price up to 20 things a day this way, counting "Fix details" (more with a pass or plan).

I scanned the same photo twice. Did I use two scans?

No. If you scan the same photo again within 24 hours, you get the same result back and it doesn't count as a new scan.

Prices

How does Shedload work out a price?

An AI model identifies each item. For anything you add by name, and for the most valuable things in a scan (up to 10 per scan, worth £5 or more), it then searches the web for what that exact model has recently sold for in the UK and prices it from that. Everything else gets the AI's own estimate, adjusted by category using what similar items have sold for on eBay UK. Open any item and look at "What this price is based on" to see which it was and what the search found.

Why do some prices change at the end of a scan?

Items show up as soon as they're spotted, with a first estimate. Once the list is complete, Shedload looks up recent UK prices for the most valuable ones, and their prices update when that's done. It takes a few more seconds.

Why is it a range, not one price?

Second-hand prices vary with condition, timing and how well the listing is written. The range is where most similar items sell. "Best guess" is the middle of it.

Is the price an offer?

No. It's an estimate to help you decide what to sell and for how much. Nobody, including us, is offering to buy at that price. To check it yourself, open the item and tap "Sold on eBay UK", which shows what similar things actually sold for. The Vinted and Depop links show asking prices, which are usually higher than what things go for.

The price looks wrong. What can I do?

Open the item and tap "Fix details" (or "Not quite right? Fix details"). Correct the name, the condition or add notes like the model or size, and it re-prices. If Shedload got the item badly wrong, we'd like to hear about it at emilianoappdev@gmail.com.

Why do collectibles say "Check sold prices"?

Trading cards, sealed sets and limited editions swing too much in price to estimate reliably, so for those we suggest checking recent sold listings before you set a price.

Selling

Where should I sell each thing?

Every item shows a suggestion:

How do I list something?

Open the item and tap "List it on…" (or "Sell it" for things CeX or World of Books might buy). First pick where you're selling it; our pick is marked. You'll see:

If the app opens but not on its sell page, tap "Didn't open the sell page? Use the [site] website" under the button. That opens the site's own listing page inside Shedload, where you may need to sign in.

CeX and World of Books buy from you, so for those you get a button for their quote and an "I sold it to…" button in place of the listing steps. The CeX button opens CeX's sell search with your item already typed in, showing what they pay in cash and in vouchers. Pick the closest match. CeX checks the item and sets its grade (A looks like new, B has light marks, C shows clear wear), and we tell you which grade yours sounds like.

Each item shows where it is (To list, Listed, Sold) and the one thing to do next. Once it's up, check the price you actually listed it at (we fill in our suggestion) and tap "I've listed it", so Shedload can keep track of it.

Can I use Shedload in light or dark mode?

Yes. Go to Settings and pick "Match phone", "Light" or "Dark" under Appearance.

Why did I get a reminder about something I listed?

If something's been listed for 10 days and isn't marked as sold, Shedload reminds you once and suggests a price about 10% lower than what you listed it at, which often gets things moving. You'll also see it under "Not sold yet" on the Home tab. If you change your price, open the item, tap "Listing and price" and save the new price, and the 10 days start again. To stop reminders, go to Shedload's Settings and turn off "Listing reminders". Turning them back on sets them again for anything still listed.

I sold something. What now?

Open the item and tap "It sold" (or "Already sold it" if you sold it without listing through Shedload), then type what it went for. It moves to the Done list and adds to "made so far" on the Home tab. The sale price is also sent to us without your name, so we can check our estimates against real sales. If you gave something away instead, tap "Gave it away". Both can be undone.

Rooms, bundles and My stuff

What's the My stuff tab?

Every item you've scanned, sorted into To list, Listed and Done, and grouped by where to sell it. The totals at the top show what's waiting to be listed, what's up for sale and what you've made. Use the search bar to find something by name, brand or room. Each tab has buttons along the top to show just one site: in To list, where we suggest selling it; in Listed, where you listed it; in Done, where it sold, with what you've made there. Things listed or sold before November 2026, or marked without a site, show as "Not recorded".

How do rooms work?

After a scan, pick where it was, such as Loft or Wardrobe. The Home tab then shows how much is in each room. Tap a room to see everything in it. Picking a room is optional.

How do I make a bundle?

In My stuff, tap "Bundle", tick 2 or more things that would sell well together (books, kids' clothes, games) and tap the button at the bottom. You get one listing with one price, about 80% of what the items are worth separately, because bundles sell for a little less. To undo it, open the bundle and tap "Split bundle".

How do I share my total?

On the Home tab, tap "Share total" for a card showing what's sitting in your house, or "Share what I've made" once you've sold something. The card shows your top items and their prices, not your photos.

Plans and payments

What's free?

Your first 2 scans, and everything else: fixing details and adding by name (up to 20 a day), listing help, bundles and sharing. After that, you need the Clear-out Pass or the Annual plan to keep scanning.

What's the difference between the Pass and Annual?

Prices are shown in the app before you pay. Fair use: you can scan up to 100 times a day.

My purchase isn't showing

Go to the Settings tab and tap "Restore purchases". Use the same Apple ID you bought with.

I was given a code

Go to the Settings tab, tap "Enter a code" and type it. It unlocks unlimited scans on that phone. Codes are for people reviewing or testing Shedload.

How do I cancel the Annual plan?

In Shedload, go to Settings and tap "Manage subscription". Or on your iPhone, go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Shedload. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You keep access until the end of the year you paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments, so refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

Do I need an account?

No. Shedload doesn't ask for your name or email.

Where are my items stored?

On your phone. Your items, photos, rooms and notes aren't uploaded to us. Photos are sent to our AI provider to be valued and aren't kept afterwards. The privacy policy has the details.

Can I move my items to a new phone?

Your items come across if you set up the new iPhone from a backup of the old one. There's no other way to move them, because nothing is stored in an account. Your pass or subscription comes across with "Restore purchases".

How do I delete my data?

To delete everything on your phone, go to Settings, tap "Your data", then "Delete all items on this phone", or delete the app. Our server keeps only your free-scan count and any sale prices you reported, stored against a random install ID, and they expire within 13 months. To have them deleted sooner, copy your install ID from Settings, then "Your data", and email it to us.

If something goes wrong

"Couldn't reach Shedload"

Your phone couldn't connect to us. Check your Wi-Fi or mobile data and tap "Try again".

"That scan didn't work"

The scan failed partway, which sometimes happens when our AI provider is busy. It doesn't use up a scan. Try again in a moment, and if it keeps failing, try a different photo.

"Shedload is having trouble right now"

Something on our side is down for a moment. Try again in a minute or two.

"Too many requests from this network"

To stop abuse, each network can only make a certain number of free scans an hour. If you share Wi-Fi with lots of people (say at work), try again later or switch to mobile data.

The camera won't open

Shedload needs permission to use your camera. On your iPhone, go to Settings, then Shedload, and turn on Camera. Or use "Photos" to choose a photo you've already taken.

It found nothing, or missed things

Try a closer photo in better light, with labels facing the camera. Small or half-hidden things are easy to miss in a wide shot. You can also add anything it missed with "Add something by name".
