Shedload

UK prices from recent sales

Is your loft worth a shedload?

Take one photo of a shelf, a wardrobe or a box from the loft. Shedload picks out each thing, prices it at what it really sells for second-hand in the UK, and tells you where to sell it.

How it works

One photo, every price

No typing in model numbers. Fit a whole shelf in the frame and Shedload does the rest.

  1. Photograph a shelf

A shelf, a rail of clothes or a box from the loft. Add up to three photos if you want close-ups of the labels.

  2. See what it's worth

Each thing gets its own picture, a UK price range and a best guess. They appear one by one as Shedload works through the photo.

  3. Get it sold

Pick where to sell, copy a ready-written listing, then mark it sold. Your house total turns into money made.

Who it's for

For when the stuff has to go

For anyone with a house full of things they'd sell if they knew what each one was worth.

  • Moving house

Scan every shelf before you pack. Sell what you'd only be paying to move.

  • The kids grew out of it

Toys, prams, bouncers and bags of clothes. See what's worth listing and what to bundle.

  • The January clear-out

Make room after Christmas. Do one room a week and watch the house total add up.

Honest prices

Prices you can check

Chatbots guess second-hand prices from memory. In our test of 59 common items, ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude were off by nearly a third, some too high and some too low. Shedload looks up what each thing has recently sold for in the UK and shows its working.

  • Priced from recent UK sales found online, not from memory.
  • One tap opens the matching sold listings, so you can check for yourself.
  • Not sure what something is? It asks you one question and re-prices it.

Where to sell

Knows where each thing sells best

Every item comes with a suggestion and the reason for it. You can pick another site when you list it.

  • Vinted Clothes and books

Quick for clothes, shoes, bags and books. Private sellers pay no selling fees.

  • Depop Vintage

Better for vintage, streetwear and designer pieces, with younger buyers.

  • eBay Most things

The biggest UK audience. Best for branded, collectable and higher-value things.

  • CeX Buys from you

Pays a set price on the spot for phones, consoles and games. Usually less than eBay, but no waiting.

  • Facebook Marketplace Local

Free and local, so buyers collect. Best for big or heavy things you don't want to post.

  • World of Books Buys from you

Scan the barcode for an instant price and send them free. Quick for piles of books, CDs, DVDs and games.

Worth under £5? Shedload suggests bundling it with similar things or giving it away, rather than spending an evening listing it.

Then get it sold

Everything you need to list it

  • An asking price

A price to list at, and the lowest offer worth taking, so there's room to haggle.

  • A photo checklist

The photos buyers look for with that kind of item, from size labels to signs of wear.

  • A ready-written listing

A title and description to copy straight into Vinted, eBay or wherever you sell.

  • A nudge after 10 days

If it hasn't sold, Shedload reminds you and suggests a price about 10% lower.

  • Bundles

Group small things that sell better together, like kids' clothes or a pile of games.

  • Rooms and totals

See what's in the loft, the garage or the wardrobe, and what you've made so far.

Questions

Good to know

Is the price an offer?

No. It's an estimate of what similar things sell for second-hand in the UK. Nobody, including us, is offering to buy at that price. CeX and World of Books give you their own quote.

What counts as one scan?

One go at valuing a photo, or up to 3 photos of the same things. A shelf of ten things is still one scan. Fixing details or adding something by name doesn't use a scan; you can price up to 20 things a day that way.

How do I become a tester?

On your iPhone, install Apple's free TestFlight app, then open the Shedload test link and tap Install. If the link says the test is full, email emilianoappdev@gmail.com.

Do I need an account?

No. Shedload doesn't ask for your name or email, and your items are stored on your phone.

Does it work on Android?

No, Shedload is iPhone only.

How do I cancel the Annual plan?

In Shedload, go to Settings and tap "Manage subscription", or open Subscriptions in your iPhone's Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews and you keep access until the end of the year you paid for.
